It's a Christmas miracle!!

I weighed in this AM and I'd lost another -2.2 lbs! Don't get me wrong, this doesn't come as a total shock. I've really been watching what I eat, but I did have a normal Christmas meal with the family. I even had a piece of Dymphna's famous cheesecake!
My eating habits have totally changed for the better and it's not nearly as hard as it had been in the beginning.
I'll post some New Year's pictures this week.
Happy New Year to all of you! Here's to a slimmer me in 2010.

Down another -3.6 lbs.

We've been so busy here I haven't updated the blog for a couple weeks. I started this blog to help keep me on track, to keep me accountable. The followers and comments you all leave is just icing on the cake.

Last week I was up a bit. I'd done a cookie exchange with some friends and boy did I eat some cookies!! :) I knew I'd be up, but I also let myself have that fun with friends. I didn't beat myself up over it. I've been on Weight Watchers for 17 weeks and have only been up 2 of those weeks.

Last week I received a new charm for my WW key chain. It's a charm for attending 16 meetings 16 weeks in a row. I was very proud of that charm. A lot of times I start "projects" and don't finish them. It must be the ADD in me. Well this project I've started is different. It's a lifestyle change and I've done well with this change. I put the WW meeting on my calendar and don't let anything get in it's way.

I was down-3.6 this week. I had to make up for the gain last week. :) I'm now down a total of -37 on WW and -42 all together! What a great gift to myself!

I wish all of you a wonderful and blessed Christmas! I'm very much looking forward to the new year!

How did I lose this week??

I must have a tape worm! Let's see....on Wednesday I ate cookie dough, on Thursday I left for my scrapbook retreat and ate whatever was being served. Didn't over-do it, but really didn't count points. While on the weekend I ate almost half a bag of snack size Twix. Went to WW this AM and had lost -2.6 pounds!! They say it's because I'm working out so much that it's changed my metabolism. Whatever works!.....I'm just happy to be down!
I'm now down a total of -35 pounds on WW and -40 all together. I had lost 5 before I joined.
I wish all of you a fantastic week!!

Down almost a pound even with Thanksgiving!

Well it wasn't a whole lot, but I still did manage to lose almost a pound. I am now down to 214. I'm down a total of -32 pounds on WW.

I have a lot to go, but it's a pretty fantastic start. I already feel better. I'm wearing clothes that I haven't been able to wear in a few years. I need to get new jeans since they are falling off me, but I'll wait till I'm down another size. I was wearing a 22, now I'm able to wear a 16. One thing I'm very excited about is just being able to get out of plus sizes. :)

Hope everyone has a great week!

How in the heck did I do that???

I was soooo sure I'd be up a pound or two when I went for weigh-in this AM. I just got home from Cincinnati yesterday and had a bit of the good ole' Cincy food. I had Skyline chili twice, Graeter's once and Dewey's Pizza twice. Somehow I still lost a pound!! WooHoo!!
It's not the holiday's I worry about. That's just all about portion control and subbing ingredients in my favorite recipes. I was way more worried about my trip to Cincinnati. You can't put me in the Natti and not expect me to have Skyline, Dewey's and Graeter's.
I did work out 4 times while I was there, so I'm sure that helped and I didn't eat HUGE amounts of these things.
Let's keep on keeping on! I wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Down -3.5 !

I'm now down a total of -30.5 on Weight Watchers! I lost -3.5 this past week.

I'm in Cincinnati visiting family and friends with Tommy this week. I got online and found a WW meeting just a few miles away. Tommy and I are going to have a fun filled week with family and friends. He loves spending time with his cousins, Lily, Sophie and Charlotte.

Hope everyone has a great week!

It ain't always pretty...

...I was up half a pound at this weeks weigh-in. This AM I weighed myself and it's already down a pound and a half. I swear sometimes it just depends on how the wind blows! :)
Yesterday was my first gain. I'm not nearly as disapointed as I thought I'd be. All I can do is keep on keeping on!
I'm already looking forward to next weeks weigh-in.

A day to Celebrate!

I hit my 10% goal and my 25 pound goal today! I was down -5lbs this week!! I'm now at a total loss of -28lbs on Weight Watchers. Here is a picture of the 10% keychain and the 25lb charm.

I now have to figure what I want my total goal to be. According to the Healthy Weight Range I should be between 124 to 155lbs. I was 120 something in high school and there is NO way I'll get back to that. I think my goal will be more towards the higher end. :-)

Thanks everyone so much for your continued support! It truly helps keep me motivated!

Picture Time

Here is the most recent picture taken of me at my friend Nina's birthday party here at my house. They had me put her crown on for the picture. Our friend Alisa handmade the crown.

Darn Mother Nature

I was down -1.5 this week, but according to my scale I had been down more then that until Mother Nature came to visit! It's a loss and where Weight Watchers wants me to be. I am still loving the program and enjoying the results. I'm working harder on this then I have on almost anything in my life. It's gotten a lot easier these past couple weeks. It's become my new lifestyle. That's what it's going to have to be to continue the weight loss for life.

I want to thank ALL of you for your support and encouragement. It truly helps hearing your comments and having all of you in my cheering section!

I found an excellent recipe I want to share. It's a veggie salad and it 0 points!! I'm not a huge tomato fan, but this is sooo yummy!!

1 1/2 C Cucumber diced or cubed
1 1/2 C Tomato diced or cubed
1/2 C onion diced or cubed
6 t Splenda (which is almost 12 packets)
1/2 C Red Wine Vinegar
1/2 C Water
1 t dried dill weed
Mix it all together and refrigerate for an hour before serving.

See you all next week!

Holy Guacamole......hummmmm that sounds good!

I was down -4.4 pounds!! I weighed in at 224. Down a total of -21.4 on WW and almost -25 all together. I honestly can't tell you how I lost this past week. We went on vacation to South Padre Island and although I was within my points I used my flex points....so I ate more and lost more! Go Figure!! It's gotta be the working out. Kim is kicking my booty and it's wonderful!!
I can't say enough good things about Weight Watchers. It's the only "plan" that lets me be normal. I can go out or eat in. Tommy is even eating better since he eats what we eat. This is a good lifestyle change for all of us.
I am in such a great Weight Watchers group. There are a few of us that have really clicked. I'm going to start a small email group with some of them to help us keep on track.
We'll see what next week holds! :-)

I was sooooo scared to weigh in...

...but it wasn't so bad! I was only down a half of a pound, but that's OK! I thought for sure I'd be up! I went on our Women's Retreat with church and ate what they served. It was kind of hard to make great food choices when even the salad dressing on the salad bar had more calories then my entire (usual) dinner. I did splurge and have dessert one night and even a smore at the campfire. Now come on....how can I pass up a smore?? Those are my absolute favorite!! If it wern't for my wroking out so hard I think I would have been up.
I tried on some old jeans this past Friday and they FIT! They are a size 18. I'd gotten up to a size 20/22, so even if the scale doesn't always show it, my clothes are fitting again! :)
I worked out today with my trainer/friend Kim and she kicked my can! It's all good.......it'll be good for me.
Time to get back on track and drop some more pounds!

Ughhh......only a pound down

I know it's still a loss, but it's got me bummed! I haven't changed a thing and I'm only down a pound!?! Yes a pound is a pound, but come on!! I've been at the gym everyday except Sunday. I get on the treadmill and don't get off till I've burned 500 calories. I just need a minute to have my lil' pity party then I'll be fine!........
OK done with the pity party. On a good note I'm finally back into the 220's! I'm at 229. The WW leader says the first few weeks you'll lose more, but then WW really only wants you loosing between 1 to 2 pounds a week.
Sooooo I'm just doing what WW says!
Let's see what happens next week.

Down another 4.2 lbs!

WooHoo! I'm now down a total of 16 with Weight Watchers and a total of 20 since I started. I was 250 and today I weighed in at 230.2.

Today I hired a personal trainer (my friend) Kim Gowen. She goes to my church and I've known her for 3 years. She's a fitness guru and is working on getting her Personal Trainer Certification. I'm happy she'll be able to help me make the most out of my workouts.

I was thinking the other day about some of the things I'm looking forward to as I continue to lose weight. Sometimes it's the small things. Here's a short list.
1.) Clothes that will stay on a regular hanger! The plus size shirts fall off the hangers.
2.) Being able to buy clothes in a regular store.
3.) Sitting more comfortably in any and all seats.

I was not an overweight child. I have some pictures from when I was little where I look like my parents didn't feed me. I didn't gain weight till after I got out of collage. When I got an apartment with a friend it was just easier to eat out. Growing up eating out was a big treat since we so rarely did it. I want to instill that in Tommy. I'd gotten into the habit of stopping at Mc D's or Taco Bell whenever Eric was out of town (which at times is often). We've stopped eating out except once a week. I'm cooking so much more at home and enjoying it. I want to make eating out a treat.....not a way of life.

I found(thanks Michelle) an awesome website and book. http://www.hungry-girl.com/ Her new book is 200 under 200. It's 200 recipes under 200 calories. She even has the WW points to go along with her recipes. Today for lunch I had an awesome buffalo chicken wrap! Sooo yummy!!

Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support!

-11.8

I'm . (point) 2 pounds from my 5% goal mark! I weighed in today at 234.2. I'm almost down 12 pounds in three weeks. I'm excited, for the first time in over 20 years, about this lifestyle change. I truly feel that this time I'm going to do it. I don't know what's different, but something is....something has clicked and it's a good thing!
They say the weight loss will now start slowing down to about -2 pounds per week. I'm just happy the scale is going down and not continuing to go up!

Working out has become my new obsession.

I'm not surprised. It's happened before. Now I'm obsessed with working out. I have not yet missed a day. I'll feel terrible tomorrow when I can't go. Isn't it funny how something you hate can become an obsession? I still don't LOVE going, but I certainly don't mind as much as I used to.
I'm not overdoing it by far. I just spend 30 minutes on the treadmill. I listen to my iPhone/iPod and go for it. I like that having that computer screen in front of me keeps me going. It tells me how far I've gone, how many calories I've burned and what my heart rate is. Isn't it amazing that it takes 30 minutes walking very fast to burn 300 calories, but only takes you 5 seconds to eat that many calories....not fair!! Just sayin'!

Week Two Weigh In

-4.6! I'm down again! On Weight watchers scale I weighed in at 237. On my home scale (which is a WW scale) I weigh in at 231. Whichever one is correct it still makes me happy! According to WW I'm down a total of -9 in two weeks on program.
I've added working out to the schedule....just shoot me, but it's gotta be done! I rejoined the Frisco Athletic Center. I couldn't decide betweet that or the Y, but the FAC has a killer pool that Tommy loves and for the same price as the Y. I've worked out 3 days in a row now. I'm just starting, so I've done 30 minutes on the treadmill each day at a pretty fast pace. I do have to say having the music totally helps!! (downloaded some Lady Gaga, Brittany, Beyonce, Coldplay, Michael Jackson and other movin' music to my iPhone).
I'm going to share my blog with a few more people. I've only shared it with 3 people so far. I'm not ready to show the world what my true weight is yet! :)

Check out Dottie's Weight Loss Zone. www.DWLZ.com She's got such great info on there. She also has points for almost every restaurant imaginable!

What the hell??

Why can't scales weigh the same?? I bought a scale at Target a couple days ago. Even got the offical Weight Watchers Scale. Weighed myself this AM and it says I'm 235. Now keep in mind I'd just weighed in at 241 two days ago at Weight Watchers. I'm like super weight looser!! Dunree just joined WW yesterday, so I had her weigh herself on my new scale and compare it to her weight yesterday and it's two pounds light. I just wish my scale was spot on.
So knowing the scale is two pounds light, I'm still down 4 more. :)

Week One

WooHoo!! Today I weighed in at 241. I'm 5 pounds down. At my heaviest a few months ago I weighed in at 249....I can't believe I'd let myself get to 250. Well enough beating myself up....time to move on. I'm down.....any loss is good, but 5 pounds is great! I know I won't lose that much each week. Usually you lose the most the first two weeks then it's recommended to lose about 2 pounds per week.

I have no desire to be a size 2...I haven't been a size 2 since I was 2! I'd like to get back to around 170. I weighed 180 when I met Eric.

Here is my goal: I'd like to lose 2 pounds a week until I get down to 170. That's 76 total pounds. That's 38 weeks which would be almost 10 months. Hopefully by June of 2010 I can be at goal.

When I was home last Christmas I was talking with Dr. Vesper (my brothers father-in-law) and he was talking about how to maintain weight loss. He said the easiest way to maintain is if you gain 3 pounds you stop and lose it ASAP. That was another light bulb moment. I have lost weight before but sadly failed at keeping it off. I'd gain 5 pounds and think it's no big deal. Then it'd hit 10 and I still think well 10 isn't bad....I was so heavy before. Then 10 turned to 20 which then turned to giving up. I always had an excuse. NO MORE EXCUSES.

It's Time!

It's Time!

I've decided IT'S TIME!! Time to cut the crap. Time to get on track. No more excuses and no more putting it off. There is always going to be some reason to try to put it off....Christmas, Birthday or special events. It's just time!

I have an old friend from high school Sally. Sally had an older sister Katie who I just admired so much. She was always so fun and outgoing! Katie and I both helped the sports teams, were on the pep squad and we both were very active in our school. I was looking at Sally's Facebook pictures when I came across pictures from her other sisters wedding. I just kept looking at this one girl in those pictures and said, "Is that Katie? She looks amazing!" She looked very trim and fit! My first thought was I bet she's had weight loss surgery. I'd looked into it and was very close to having the lapband myself. I sent a message to Sally through FB and said, "Sally, I'm needing to lose a bunch of weight and couldn't help but notice the pictures of Katie. She looks wonderful! Can you let me know what she did to lose weight?" Sally's response totally surprised me. She informed me that two years ago Katie joined Weight Watchers and hasn't looked back. She's lost around 100 pounds and is now a size 4. She's running marathons!

Something just clicked....or snaped! I'm not sure which. I right then and there decided I CAN DO THIS!! I HAVE TO DO THIS! I was so proud of Katie and her accomplishment! I knew that if she could do it I could do it to! Katie, (maybe someday you'll read this) I want you to know you were/are my inspiration!

I had a physical from the Dr. not too long ago. I got that dreaded news.....I'm borderline diabetic and my blood pressure was up a bit. The Dr. simply stated that if I could lose a bit of weight I could get rid of both these potentially deadly medical diagnoises.

I HAVE to do this for me and for my health. I have a 3 year old son Tommy and I want to do everything in my power to be around as long as I can for him!

It's time!! I joined Weight Watchers on September 1, 2009.

The picture above was taken less then a month ago. I am 246 lbs. in this picture.
